Tech-Savvy Joyce
CEO of Hanson Robotics, David Hanson, expressed his happiness and excitement about the partnership with Immersion on project Joyce. He speaks about how computer vision, like Immervision’s techniques, incorporates social and cognitive capabilities like the robot Sophia.
Now in her sister, Joyce would take AI to the next level. Joyce turns out the world’s humanoid robot developed by the computer vision community. Immervision’s high-tech panomorphEYE-based visual cortex, ultra-wide-angle cameras are included in Joyce’s “start-of-the-art humanoid body”.
Hanson’s Robotics experience in building Sophia would help to build the humanoid body, Joyce. The feature of third-party computer vision technology would make it feasible for Joyce to safety during driving and in self-driven cars through improved optics.
The ongoing global pandemic coronavirus can be detected with thermal cameras that scan a large number of people and distinguish people with symptoms. Joyce will have the capabilities to see through the smoke, spot people over the trees and objects.
Development Kit- Immervision
According to the press release, the development kit by Immervision would magnify the new humanoid’s “approach and understanding of its surroundings to find solutions of computer vision challenges”, which involves sensors, artificial intelligence algorithms, and software.
The company has plans to bring the second version of the panamorphEYE Development kit, says Alain Paquin, the head of the Joyce project. The advancement in the development kit would effortlessly integrate the latest sensors and AI algorithms, creating huge paths for development and possibilities across sectors.
AI-In Daily Lives
When the machines have human-like qualities, including cognitive capacities, it boosts the economy across the globe. Now limitations won’t be the same on the AI-based technologies, which definitely would progress beyond the human vision, says Paquin.
The specific feature of 360-degree views without any focus on the particular point. It would have the ability that goes beyond the human eye’s capacity through sensors, specifically including Lidars and infrared.
