Amazon on Wednesday launched what the enterprise claims is the most capable AI model in its Nova own family, Nova Premier.

Nova Premier, which can process text content, images, and videos (but now not audio), is available in Amazon Bedrock, the enterprise’s AI model development platform. Amazon stated that Premier excels at “complicated tasks” that “needs deep knowledge of context, multi-step planning, and accurate execution across multiple tools and data sources.”

Amazon introduced its Nova lineup of models in December at its annual AWS re-Invent conference. Over the last few months, the enterprise has increased the collection with image- and video-generating models as well as with audio understanding and agentic, project-acting releases.

Nova Premier, which has a context length of 1 million tokens, that means it could analyze around 750,000 words in a single cross, is weaker on certain benchmarks than flagship models from rival AI enterprises which includes Google. On SWE-Bench Verified, a coding test, Premier is at the back of Google’s Gemini 2.Five Pro, and it also plays poorly on benchmarks measuring math and science knowledge, GPQA Diamond and AIME 2025.

However, in vibrant spots for Premier, the model does properly on tests for knowledge retrieval and visual understanding, SimpleQA and MMMU, according to Amazon’s internal benchmarking.

In Bedrock, Premier is priced at $2.50 according to 1 million tokens fed into the model and $12.50 per 1 million tokens produced by using the model. That’s across the identical price as Gemini 2.5 Pro, which charges $2.50 per million input tokens and $15 per million output tokens.

Importantly, Premier isn’t a “reasoning” model. As against models like OpenAI’s o4-mini and DeepSeek’s R1, it could’t take time beyond regulation and computing to carefully remember and fact-test its answers to questions.

Amazon is pitching Premier as pleasant for “teaching” smaller models by distillation — in different phrases, moving its abilities for a particular use case into a quicker, more efficient package.

Amazon sees AI as increasingly core to its overall boom method. CEO Andy Jassy currently stated the enterprise is building greater than 1,000 generative AI programs and that Amazon’s AI sales is growing at “triple-digit” year-over-year probabilities and represents a “multi-billion-dollar annual revenue run rate.”
