World, Sam Altman’s biometric identification-verification venture, has updated the recent version of its app to include encrypted chat service with crypto payment integration.

The upgrade has allowed Venmo-like send, deposit and withdraw cryptocurrency in the World Wallet and virtual account.

World ‘Super App’: End-to-End Encryption, Crypto Integration

World formally released its app in 2023 and said on the time that the task is to offer tools to confirm human identification in an era of AI manipulation.

The app upgrade was disclosed on Thursday at World’s headquarters in San Francisco, wherein Altman and World co-founder and CEO Alex Blania in short spoke about the improvements. Developers termed the brand new upgrade a “super app” earlier than the product team defined its features.

“It’s really tough to become aware of specific people while keeping privacy,” stated Altman, a Mezha record noted.

To make certain conversation privacy, the chat messages show blue bubbles for “verified people” and grey bubbles for individuals who haven’t verified. Moreover, profile photos are checked towards the Orb image stored on the user’s device.

World App Updates With Virtual Bank Accounts and improved Crypto Features

In May, World launched its iris-scanning project to US customers. The process includes users scanning their face and iris in about 30 seconds, developing a unique “IrisCode” to verify their identification.

Besides, the World already functions as a digital wallet; moreover, the latest version presents virtual bank accounts.

“Users can obtain their salary immediately within the World App, make deposits from bank accounts , and then funds may be transformed into cryptocurrency,” the report added.

Besides switch and trade throughout more than 100 assisted assets, World Chain native tokens and a RWA assets like tokenized gold also are to be available, the corporation stated in the declaration.

The new version of the app underscores the organization’s intention to increase partnerships and build a more integrated ecosystem targeted on the ease of crypto usage.
